For the fixtures and fittings listed in Table 1, as applicable to the project scope, reduce water consumption by 20% from the baseline. Base calculations on the volumes and flow rates shown in Table 1. All newly installed toilets, urinals, private lavatory faucets, and showerheads that are eligible for labeling must be WaterSense® labeled (or a local equivalent for projects outside the U.S.).

For cooling towers and evaporative condensers, achieve a minimum of two cycles of concentration or provide a minimum of 20% reduction from a baseline of two cycles of concentration. For commercial clothes washers, use ENERGY STAR® qualified equipment. Reduce appliance and equipment water use: for any newly installed equipment listed in Table 2, use ENERGY STAR or equivalent products. For ice machines, use air-cooled or closed-loop cooling.

For cooling towers, achieve a minimum of two cycles of concentration without the use of potable water for once-through cooling. Analyze the makeup water quality over the course of the year: maximum of three cycles of concentration using the maximum potential cycles of concentration based on the site's water quality; or 20% reduction from a baseline of two cycles using a site improvement strategy.
