Install permanent leak-detection systems that have an automatic shut-off function at either the building-level main connection or at the subsystem submeter. The leak-detection system must be capable of detecting unintended flow that is higher than baseline seasonal and weekly usage. The system must notify building management or provide other appropriate alert systems for the plumbing and water subsystems metered for this credit. Demonstrate that the system has an automatic fail-safe to use if the leak-detection system is malfunctioning.
