3.9 Continuous Improvement of LEED

English(英文原文)中文(中文翻译)
LEED is updated continuously through a regular five-year development cycle of revision to the rating systems. Since its inception, LEED has maintained its same basic structure (categories, prerequisites, and credits), while evolving and adapting to meet the challenges that project teams face.
Reasons for Updating LEED:
• New markets and building types(新市场与建筑类型)
• Advances in practice and technology(实践与技术的进步)
• A greater understanding of the impacts of the built environment(对建成环境影响的更深入理解)
This continuous improvement is designed to ensure that LEED project teams have relevant, timely resources and guidance to help them maximize their project's performance.
Ways LEED Rating System is Updated:
• Implementation and maintenance of the current version by issuing clarifications and updates
• Adaptation of the current version for specific space types and international projects
• Development of the next version of LEED, including multiple avenues for stakeholder input and final approval
The development of new LEED versions is an iterative process. Ideas are often tested by LEED project teams even before a new version is fully developed and approved by USGBC members. This testing can be done either at the individual credit level (through a Pilot Credit Library) or at the entire rating system level (through a beta testing process).
